I have recently installed Kubuntu after using Ubuntu for only a short amount of time.
KPackageKit:
I was interested in installing some new software, however I was unable to find anything through a search in Software Management. The Software Updates feature also seams to be broken. When I click "refresh" the package download becomes stuck at 57%.
Update Notifier:
When I click on the small Update Notifier icon to the bottom right-hand side of the screen I'm given the option of installing several multimedia functionality packages. However when I attempt to install them I'm given the option to restart the computer. When I reboot I'm told to install the packages again.

Network connection through ethernet cable.
