    Hello,

I am running Kubuntu and having a good time with it. Yesterday evening however I was playing around again on my PC. I noticed that when I minimize a window (not closing it) is dissapears but the application (in that window) is still running ! I cannot find them, so I cannot bring the window back on my screen ! Please help me !

I'm not going to answer your question because I don't know and have no need to find out. What I will say is that to me minimizing is an MS-Windows thing which is only needed when there is a shortage of desktops. If you run a bunch of desktops (you chose how many) then there is absolutely no need to minimize and it just creates more work. Everybody works in different ways, but I just go to another desktop if I want to keep something. I find that 8 is good, but you many need more, and using the Ctrl key I just flip through them to do different things.

If nothing better helps, I would try reset plasma settings. It happens sometimes when playing around that plasma screws up.

      1. Press Ctrl+Esc, kill plasma, your desktop will disappear
      2. Press Alt+F2. It will launch KRunner, run dolphin from it and rename .kde directory in your home. System will create the new one.
      3. Run plasma from KRunner.
You will get fresh desktop like after upgrade to the new version and you will lose some settings, if you have done some. You can save something from the old .kde, for example kmail files.
Kubuntu 16.04 on two computers and Kubuntu 17.04 on DELL Latitude 13

You're likely just missing the "task manager" widget from the panel.

        1. Unlock widgets if locked
        2. Right-click on panel and choose "add widget"
        3. Add the "task manager" widget
        4. If you need to rearrange the widgets, you can drag-and-drop widgets when panel configuration bar is open (click the plasma icon on the panel to open the configuration bar)

(This has been asked before, searching the forums is often a quicker way to get answers)
