    Xine and Fullscreen mode

    Hallo everybody!

I would appreciate indications on the following:

I used to run Xine on my laptop connected to an external monitor (cloned) and the monitor of the laptop used to have only a blue area when playing a video, whereas the external monitor (a tv via the VGA port really) used to show perfectly and smoothly the video (incl. DVDs).

A few days ago, I realised something changed: no particular updates if not the recommended ones, among which a Kernel update. Xine is always the same, and settings were not modified by me.
    BUT:
    1) I can see the video played on both screens (which seems better!)
    2) in fullscreen mode I get the message on "too many discarded frames" and the video is sloppy... and not smooth. Including DVDs...

Does someone guess what went wrong?

    Basic details:
    1) Intel I855GM graphics card
    2) problem of fullscreen now happens even if I disable the VGA port
    3) works with driver xshm, but I read that Xv driver is better...any idea? I was forced to modify to xshm from the auto mode
    4) Compiz and emerald are activated

X.org.log gives only error about loading i810 driver...but intel driver is fine for i810/855gm cards.

Everything worked fine and now... I have some problems if not using xshm driver in xine.

any suggestion? Might it be the latest kernel update released few days ago?

    Matteo
