    Korganizer not raising alarms in Karmic [RESOLVED]

    Since I installed Karmic, Korganizer no longer pops up alarm screens.

    What to do?

    Thanks in advance.

    I guess this problem doesn't interest anyone. Nobody else has it?

      Works as expected here.

      Is the korgac daemon running (visible in tray), and the reminders enabled in it's settings?

        Korgac? What is that? I see no such process. Nor anything like that in the tray. And "apt-cache search" doesn't find anything like that.

        There is a korganizer process running. Isn't that enough? It doesn't seem to have any children spawned.

        $ psg organ
        jon 1961 1 0 07:49 ? 00:00:42 korganizer -session 1014214315198000125838745700000017610052_125883519 4_22033
        jon 6274 5176 0 14:57 pts/5 00:00:00 grep organ
        $ psg 1961
        jon 1961 1 0 07:49 ? 00:00:42 korganizer -session 1014214315198000125838745700000017610052_125883519 4_22033
        jon 6276 5176 0 14:58 pts/5 00:00:00 grep 1961

        (The "psg" command is just an alias for ps -edf | grep )

          It's the daemon that needs to run constantly to enable the reminders. If it's not running, here's what you have to do:
          K Menu -> Office -> KOrganizer
          Once it's running it will add its icon to your system tray -- it might be set to be hidden automatically, so if you don't see it expand the system tray.
          Once you see it, right click on it and make sure that "Enable Reminders" and "Start Reminder Daemon at Login" are both ticked and this should solve your problem.

            That seems to do the trick. Korgac is running now.

            In fact, my system tray was too small, so I couldn't see the Korganizer icon. I clicked on the expand button and can see it now.

            Thanks a lot!
