Quick question about the Kubuntu Netbook Remix UI...

... why is it you can REMOVE elements from the plasma bar at the top of the screen, but you can't ADD elements to it? That is very frustrating.

Right-clicking on the bar does nothing (unlike standard KDE4). Nor is there an "unlock plasma widgets" command or a little cashew thingy for the bar either. It is what it is and all you can do is remove widgets. It's very un-KDE-like.

Either that or there's something wrong with my install...

Quick question, but no quick answer. Ah well.

I wound up removing the netbook plasma stuff and sticking with the regular KDE destkop. The UI is customizable enough that you can pretty much design your own sparse interface. The only problem I've found so far is that at 1024x600 (tiny, tiny netbook screen) some of the dialog boxes dip off the end by just a pixel or 5.
