Thank you all for your help, I have given up and installed gtkpod, seems to work, but will take time to figure out how to organise things. Again thanks for your time.

I loaded gtkpod and it seemed to work so I will leave it at that Amarok to listen at home and gtkpod to transfer to the POD. Thanks for all the help everyone
