9 cell battery recognizable?

Hi there,

Are there any way to check whether Karmic Kubuntu will recognize my 9 cell batteries on the lappy?

Here is the situation: at first, i was running on battery, when it reaches 67% remaining, i plug in power cord. i am very sure the power cord is working and the funny thing is the battery indicator in the tray remained in 67% constantly.

help please.
