i recently changed my laptop over to 9.10 kubuntu, i had 9.04 before this for about 4 days before karmic came out.
in 9.04 i could run both banshee and rhythmbox to see the playlist, but not play from it(due to itunes). I switched the server to read winamps playlist after installing 9.10, in rhythmbox the daap plugin will not start here is the error:
(rhythmbox:3589): Rhythmbox-WARNING **: /home/seige/.gnome2/rhythmbox/plugins/daap/libdaap.so: undefined symbol: gnome_password_dialog_set_show_username
(rhythmbox:3589): Rhythmbox-WARNING **: Could not load plugin daap
(rhythmbox:3589): Rhythmbox-WARNING **: Error, impossible to activate plugin 'DAAP Music Sharing'
So i tried banshee again, the plugin is enabled, but it does not see the playlist from simplifymedia.
amarok doesnt seem to have a daap plugin.
KDE 4.3.2
Amarok 2.2.0
Banshee 1.6 beta 2
Rhythmbox 0.12.5
this is my last "problem" with kubuntu, after this i will have no need for XP
