KILE livetex .... tocstyle

[biosftw]

I have a problem with a package which should come with texlive-full ( tocstyle which is included inside the koma-script which ships with texlive-full)

I tried to reinstall
I did sudo texhash
I did compile the tex file without kile

no success

need help...

I have kile working, not sure about what package your missing. But i did this, i went into kpackage kit, type "tex" and click anything that looks of interest, including te-tex live/essential/base,etc..

What exactly is tl complaining about? Please paste the error message from kile (from logs/messages AND Output fields).
Also, a look on your LaTex code would be helpful.

Hm, looks to me like there's something else wrong- the first pass complains about things like \documentclass...
Is it working if you comment the \usepackage{tocstyle} and all associated lines?

I personally work with a full installation of texlive2008, so I can't see whether tocstyle is included in the "normal" install. However, here's a manual how to download and install packages manually:

Given that it complains about \documentclass, it seems as if you may be running TeX from Kile, and not LaTeX or PDFTex. The button you press to compile the file should have either LaTeX (in some form) or PDFTeX on it. If it just contains TeX, then the error you are getting associated with \documentclass will happen. I would try changing the program you run it through (the little arrow shows that there are more alternatives to that button than just what is currently shown) and see if the errors are still there.
