[SOLVED] how to install gdb 6.8

hi, (Kubuntu 9.10)

gdb 7.0 is not supported by netbeans 6.7, I need to install gdb 6.8.
So far I try sudo aptitude install gdb=6.8, but I get:

Unable to find a version "6.8" for the package "gdb"

How can I install the old version?

The Ubuntu 9.10 repositories have the gdb 7.0 if you want to install the older version you could search > Ubuntu Packages Search:

This site provides you with information about all the packages available in the Ubuntu Package archive.

The Ubuntu 9.04 seems to have > Package: gdb (6.8-3ubuntu2)

You could download and install it.

After the installation the package management shall want to upgrade it to the 7.0. You could pin it to the version 6.8 > Topic: SOLVED: How to keep a program from being updated in Kpackagekit or apt?
