[SOLVED] kmail moves new mail to trash folder

Hi all,
I just completed a fresh install of Karmic but I'm having problems with Kmail putting all new mail in the trash folder marked as read.
Here's what I've done so far;
c

• hecked that the destination folder for the mail account is set to "inbox"
  reset my spam and virus directories to folders other than trash. Spam goes where I pointed it which proves that it works, but new mail still goes to trash.
  removed spam filters from my system. New mail still goes to "trash".

Does anyone have any other ideas that I can try?

Aside from the comical perspective that most email delivered nowadays is trash anyhow...

Have you checked all filters?

I see your point about it all being trash anyway - maybe I'll just leave it the way it is
The problem appears to be the anti-virus filters so I deleted all av filters and clamav from the system and all seems to be working.
I'll work on narrowing down the exact cause of the issue and let everyone know.

I've done a bit more testing and it seems that thing go a little pear shaped if you configure your anti-virus filter in Kmail before you run an initial config through Klamav.
If you run the initial Klamav config and let Klamav set up your Kmail filters then everything seems to work OK.
