Odd colours after power cut.

We had a power cut here so I couldn't shut down correctly. When I restarted my system, it did a scan and booted with a strange pink colour. Something obviously isn't right. I tried restarting but it didn't solve the problem.
Any suggestions please?

What happens if you boot with a live CD ? only ask because I had this a long time ago and it was my monitor....I hope I'm wrong

I booted windows and it was the same. Switched my monitor on and off and I'm back to normal.
