VLC insists on being number one

I have VLC installed, but want Amarok as my default application for mp3.
After moving Amarok up in file associations, and clicking save, VLC reverts to the default player.
Right away after pressing save.

Anyone else having this problem?

Have you tried changing the file association by right click the file (Mp3) >properties>click the settings icon (spanner) on the right and either add VLC or move it up > apply.

Thanks Bossa, excellent work around.

I didn't even know you could set file associations from within Dolphin.
That was really starting to get irritating.
