    Software for TomTom

    Hi,

Is it possible to update the software of TomTom GPS using Kubuntu 9.10?
I contacted TomTom with the question, but they have no idea.
Say TomTom is driven by Linux, but needs Microsoft for TomTom One.
    Ridiculous, but sadly true.

I will try to get TomTom One going using Wine.
      Never used Wine before...
Will take time first to learn.

Well, needs further testing, but TomTom Home seems to run using Wine...

Download the TomTomHOMEwinlatest.exe to a directory of choce.
        Open Konsole
        cd /home/user/directory
        wine TomTomwinlatest.exe

By browsing the C drive you can start TomTom Home using Wine.
Program Files, TomTom.exe and open with Wine program Loader.

        ATTENTION
I added the Wine repository for receiving the latest Wine.

Like I said, it seems working, but tomorrow I will really use it with my 630.

OK, tested with my TomTom Go 630.
The software starts like charm using Wine, but does not find the GO630.
          So, no luck here.

Does your computer see it when you plug it in?

No, the TotTom is not detected when plugging in.

Funny enough, TomTom devices use Linux.
