The encrypted home feature in Karmic

I noticed during the installation of Karmic that you had a choice of using your login password to decrypt your home folder. I ticked that option.

Is my home folder now encrypted when I log out or turn my computer off? Or do I need to enable something more?

I don't know, but I think you can prove it with Kubuntu Live CD. If you will be able to read some files from your home folder, something is wrong.
Kubuntu 16.04 on two computers and Kubuntu 17.04 on DELL Latitude 13

It works! I can't access my Home folder from the Kubuntu Live CD. Nice!
