Big video play problem

I've update jaunty to karmic. Most everything work, but I have very big troubles with video play.

Kaffeine and Dragon player can plays video vithout problem, BUT i'm using smplayer and VLC.

Smplayer (actually mplayer) and VLC can't find any video codec the same feature happends with kdenlive - it can't play/edit videofiles now Also mplayerthumbs in dolphin also not worked.

HELP !

I had VLC working last night, but something seems to have broken my video playback in all 3 now....

I'm thinking of backing everything up again and re-installing Karmic fresh to see if just dragon will work fine by itself again.

In my case VLC plays only some kind of MPEG video

You may have to reinstall the appropriate codecs.

Everytime an update is complete it borks my flashplay and I have to reinstall it.
