Kaffeine & DVR scheduling?

Hi all,

I have been using Kaffeine for DVR recording and had a schedule in previous installs. However, the new Kaffeine has not yet implemented repeated scheduling (i.e. it only does single instance scheduling). What other simple options are there or is it easy to reinstall the old kaffeine? I had tried mythtv in the past, but I could never get it to work, it always got hung up somewhere in database setup or something...

cron job!

cat /dev/videoX > /path/to/filename.mpg

will start the recording, and running a killall job will end it.

Not real elegant but it'll work.
