    Power Management Differences

I'm curious if someone can explain why my system is now able to sleep and awake from sleep in 9.10 RC and I haven't had this function in Ubuntu since 8.04? What is the difference between Ubuntu and Kubuntu that would cause this inconsistency? Isn't this function built into the kernel and don't Kubuntu and Ubuntu distributions essentially use the same kernel? Thanks for your helpful input!

    Re: Power Management Differences

In System Settings > Advanced is the new Power Management utility, aka "Power Devil". That is what was added recently -- I imagine it is the source of your new capabilities.

Thanks for your reply. I assume "Power Devil" is a KDE specific application? I tested Ubuntu 9.10 for several days and never noticed any such utility. Under Ubuntu 9.10, my desktop would not awake from sleep mode. It had to be rebooted every time. Thanks again for your input!
