    psst, if you type
    Code:
    /me some action here
it will automagically turn it into an emote like on IRC. I spent too many years lazing about in IRC for bad habits to go away.

In my "defense" I did try "sudo apt-cache" but Kubuntu told me it couldn't find it.

So, I tried "sudo /usr/bin/apt-cache search "ia32" and it said the same thing. It was then that I got infected with a sudden case of stupid and things went down hill.

I used to have a high IQ, really I did.
I am sure your IQ is still high, don't you go giving me that doddering stupid old man act like the one my mother's boyfriend tries to pull. :P It's easy to misread stuff on the forum here, all these tiny gorram fonts all over the place, especially in the code boxes. I am probably due for a new prescription on MY glasses, and I'm only 26! Stupid genetics.

And at the risk of exposing how truly limitless my ego is, I'll copy and paste over my attempt to apt-cache search for the package you use in your example (pay attention to my user name on my system):
    Code:
    goddess@Serenity:~$ apt-cache search "ia32"
elilo - Bootloader for systems using EFI-based firmware
libasm0 - Disassembling engine provided to the ERESI framework
libasm0-dev - Disassembling engine provided to the ERESI framework
refit - graphical boot menu for ia32 and x64 EFI systems
    microcode.ctl - Intel IA32/IA64 CPU Microcode Utility
lsb-core - Linux Standard Base 4.0 core support package
    lsb-cxx - Linux Standard Base 4.0 C++ support package
lsb-desktop - Linux Standard Base 4.0 Desktop support package
lsb-graphics - Linux Standard Base 4.0 graphics support package
lsb-languages - Linux Standard Base 4.0 Runtime Languages package
lsb-multimedia - Linux Standard Base 4.0 Multimedia package

I use synaptic for browsing packages, mostly because 'apt-cache search' tends to kick out pages and pages of stuff unrelated to what I want.
