cannot install .deb packages

I downloaded the 64bit .deb package for the Hulu Desktop application from the web.
When I click on the .deb package the bouncing wait cursor pops up, but then nothing happens.
Is anyone else having this issue? and is there a way to get the package installed?

quick update:
I was able to get the package to install using the Konsole using...
$ cd /path/to/file (using path to my downloaded package)

then...
$ sudo dpkg -i package.deb (replacing 'package' with package name)

while this is fine for me, it would have been a lot quicker if the deb installer worked.
has anyone got this working?

Make sure you RIGHT click the .deb and choose install with Gdebi.

Well other than having a shiny Qt interface, I don't think it is different, but you could always give gdebi-kde a try...
