Kpackage Kit status?

hi,
I hope to do a fresh install of Karmic when its official in about 9 days. In 9.04 Kpackage kit works just about but is nowhere as good as adept was in kde3.5.9.
I have seen release notes about 9.10 beta saying that kpackage just does not work? Can anyone tell me the current status of kpackage kit and if it will be usable in 9.10? Also any news on intel gfx drivers?

I'm running the 64 bit Karmic with the latest updates and Kpackagekit is working fine. When I get notifications I let kpackagekit handle them and it does so without problems. I jump back and forth between apt-get, synaptic and kpackagekit as mood or convenience strikes me and all three work great.
