kubuntu 9.04 w/kde 4.3.2 or Karmic 9.10 when it comes out?

is there any "GOOD" or "known" reason a person would go from a working 4.3.2 (using ppa repos) in kubuntu 9.04, to kubuntu 9.10 w/kde 4.3.2 as default?

just wondering if there's any "inner" workings, new kernel, updated packages that cant update for whatever reason on kubuntu 9.04 w/4.3.2 w/ppas' that would make a clean install of 9.10 worthwhile?

hope my question is clear enough..
    thanks
p.s. I dont EVER want to do a dist-upgrade from one version to another ever again.. gave me darn near a migraine , and ended up installing clean everytime anyway .. thanks again

    My Opinion:

If you have a working system and you are happy with it - keep it !

    - The KDE and the Ubuntu are releasing new versions every 6 months.
    - The Kubuntu 9.04 will have support until 2010-10.
    - The "final 9.10" is not bug free - it will get lot of patches after the releasing day.
    - There will be official backporting from the 9.10 to the 9.04
    - If you are willing to use the PPA repositories there will be even more backported applications.
    Before you edit, BACKUP !

Why there are dead links ?

      I concur with Rog131, don't fix what ain't broken.

But I have to add 9.10 is noticeable less sluggish.
(And I like to tinker on a separate partition)

If you get your graphics driver from *ubuntu rather than the source, then that would be a big reason to upgrade as those don't get backported or put in ppa's AFAIK.

Edit: This got me thinking/searching... and found this:

One thing to remember is that the KDE4.3 packages are actually backported from Karmic, so in theory theory they should work better there. BUT the ubiquitous Don't Fix What Ain't Broke rule always applies.

New kernel usually means new/better hardware support and drivers. Boot times are significantly quicker, even on my 6 year old laptop. many apps are newer. So what you have now is forking smoothly, you are fine not upgrading. Just look for what is new and see if you need it, or if it makes something better for you
