    [solved] OpenOffice.org major messed up

Anyone else having troubles with OOo?

    Specifically:

Dialogs (example: New Document > Insert > Picture >FromFile -- text descriptions missing next to check boxes)

Crashing when attempting to "check for updates" from Extension Manager
(Opening Window > Tools > ExtensionManager > CheckForUpdates -- whole thing disappears.

This is 64-bit kubuntu-9.10 all latest updates.

Seems like several programs (OOo, Firefox) installed from the repositories are squirrely.

I've got the same crash on a 32-bit install when I check for updates to extensions (not that anyone seems to be doing the long-overdue extension to the Presentation manager anyway, harumph!)

As far as I can tell, this problem appeared on my system with 3.1.1. Next thing to try is an install from the OOo website -- will report back.

        Solved.
The problem is the openoffice.org-kde-integration package.
Removing that fixed the problems with OOo.
It doesn't look as nice, but it works.
