    karmic problems

    hi everybody i am new user of kubuntu . after on year of using ubuntu (i used 8.10 e 9.04) i decided to switch to kubuntu let me say the reason is the plasma widget and the color (very nice style ) i like the blue not the orange or brown.
    so iam using kubnut 9.10 alfa 6 and i update or upgrade my system regularly, i know that isn't right but
    i like to test it and using it on my productive machine so i have these problems :

    1- to open amarock its tack a lot time ;
    2- i cant see the spalsh screen after booting sometimes i see a black screen or words then the login screen;
    3- when i use" System monitoring applet" widget on the next start up i have another widget" CPU usage monitor" so now i have two i dont why know every time i delete it after a shutdown it compares again;
    4- when i log out i have a blank screen and i cant see the login screen;
    5- i cant do usb startup (using usb startup creator) with an iso image ;
    6- and software management it isn't powerful (sorry about that) like sypantic or ubuntu software store.
    so i hope that this is helpful and i am asking if anybody having my same problems?? and thanks for help

    Welcome!

    The first time you run it, it will scan all your hard drive media and index it, looking for music. If you let it finish (it might take a long time to finish), then after that it will start faster.

    Or, install alsaplayer to play your music files.

    2- i cant see the spalsh screen after booting sometimes i see a black screen or words then the login screen;
    Maybe you are seeing boot messages, in text mode? Not sure what this is -- need more information. There are boot options "quiet" and "splash" -- maybe you need to review how those work.

    3- when i use" System monitoring applet" widget on the next start up i have another widget" CPU usage monitor" so now i have two i dont why know every time i delete it after a shutdown it compares again;
    Normal behavior is for user packages and widgets running when you shut down to be re-started at the next login. Possibly you have found a 9.10 bug, if it is not working that way.

    4- when i log out i have a blank screen and i cant see the login screen;
    That does not sound right. Not sure if it is a bug, or a video display issue (you haven't described your hardware).

    5- i cant do usb startup (using usb startup creator) with an iso image ;
    You have to enter the BIOS of your computer and set the "boot sequence" to put USB in the top/first position for booting.

    6- and software management it isn't powerful (sorry about that) like sypantic or ubuntu software store.
    Agree. But you can install synaptic on Kubuntu and use it the same as you did with Ubuntu:

    Code:
    sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install synaptic
    Hope this helps.
