Javaldx Bug in Open Office

When running Open Office in Karmic, the splash screen opens and then shuts down.

In Terminal, the cause is a javaldx bug which keeps OOO from launching.

It may be a permissions problem since O00 starts up fine when it is invoked with sudo in the Terminal.

Does any one know of a fix?

I am having a different problem -- OOo crashes when I attempt to update extensions.

This has not been fixed. after multiple updates over the last several days.
