Ati Catalyst drivers not working (tried 9.7 and 9.8)

KDE fails to launch. This drivers work great in Jaunty. I have heard it has something to do with the kernel version, but its not clear to me if the drivers have to be modified by ati or if theres something the kubuntu developers need to implement in order for them to run.


Should I log this as a bug?

a pick > ati driver catalyst 9.8 is out

as i understand it the 2.6.31 kernel wont be supported until catalyst 9.10, which is supposed to be available in time for karmic release...
