With Latest Updates, Wireless Is Active, But Cannot Connect

I'm running Kubuntu 9.10 (64 bit) with the latest daily build, downloaded this morning. After the install, my unsecured wireless connection was working normally. There were over 200 updates available, and after updating all, I cannot connect to anything with my wireless. I can see from the connection icon on the taskbar that I have the connection, after configuring it and 91% on the signal strength. But, I am unable to connect to anything. If I plug in an ethernet cable, I can connect just fine. Not sure what the problem is, but it almost seems like I'm firewalled out of everything. Anyone run into this or have any ideas how to troubleshoot or fix it?

    Cheers,

If anyone else is experiencing the problem I'm having.....I installed wicd, rebooted the system....and was able to connect just fine to my wireless.

      It is getting repetitive:
I am using wicd. There have been no connection problems ever since I installed it. Updates or not.

The only problems I have with wicd are of my own doing.

I had this problem. Not sure if this will apply to your set up but the ssb module was loading even after I blacklisted it so we had to add

        rmmod wl ssb
        sleep 3
        modprobe wl

        to

        sudo kate /etc/rc.local

but I don't know what driver u are using. I am using the wl driver. It could be a similar problem though cause I could see wireless it just wouldn't let me connect.
