As the title says I have no more picture on my desktop.

All I get is the chessboard

Version:
Qt: 4.5.1
KDE: 4.2.90 (KDE 4.2.90 (KDE 4.3 Beta2))
kde4-config: 1.0

In the desktop design panel the background defaults to weather. Which would be nice if I could find my city.

You can choose picture in the dropdown but that choice doesn't stick and there is no option to choose a picture from a file, so I had to choose colors.

I had read that.

I got this:

E: /var/cache/apt/archives/kde-icons-oxygen_4%3a4.2.90-0ubuntu1_all.deb: Versuche, »/usr/share/icons/oxygen/16x16/actions/meeting-attending.png« zu überschreiben, welches auch in Paket libkdepim4 ist

which seems to be a known bug but I didn't think it would influence the desktop pics.

Oh well no worries. everything else seems to be very stable for alpha, nice work

Did you also read the last post:

KDE 4.3 Beta2 packages are starting to make it to the karmic repos (second beta release due on tuesday, June 9th)

Once again, I'd recommend holding the upgrade until you can get all kde essentials (mixed beta1 and beta2 packages are likely to render your kde installation broken or even unusable).

Looks like you've partly upgraded kde to beta2 (the 4.2.90 versions), which is the likely cause for any desktop issues

It's almost there at 21:40 GMT.

Konqueror it's still ate beta #1.

subversion seems broken, can't get any snapshot.

This seems to be kubuntu best alpha so far.

A new cool feature is called weather It worked for 2 days but now is broken It displayed a picture depicting the weather conditions in your area.

I would like to use that as well but the servers that are offered don't like Switzerland >
