Qwest with "windows live" as an isp?

I'm trying to sign up for Internet service and the best deal is Qwest with windows live as the ISP (which apparently is MSN under a different name). What I'm curious about is will it work with linux? The qwest high speed is not the issue. it's the ISP that worries me. I don't want to have to pay extra for an ISP on top of the $60 for Qwest.

I have qwest dsl, and probably the "windows live" part too, but essentially all you need is their connection to the modem. The modem does all the logging in to the isp.

The modem is also a router, which doesn't care what it talks to as long as it speaks the proper protocols, and all of my linux systems and the spare windows box work just fine.

The only downside I have is that qwest doesn't support ipv6 - and from what they have told me, doesn't look like they will any time soon. So I have to use the ipv6.disable=1 option in grub to keep the newer versions [starting at 9.10, and continuing so far in 10.04] from having very long lookup times when browsing the web and such.

I just dug out the documentation that came with my modem, and after dusting it off, the "Windows Live" part is actually a service that can be installed on Windows for pc protection and stuff. I remember looking at the CD for the source code for the modem before putting it away [the zip file on the cd looked corrupt and wouldn't extract, so I had to download it from the website], but that was it.

Aside from that, the software on the CD was useless to me, and even without installing anything I haven't had any technical problems connecting with the modem or the internet with either linux or windows. Install the ethernet cable from the modem to the computer, and it works.

If you do ever call tech support, they will always ask you to open "internet explorer", and I just smile as I look at firefox and say "ok".
