DNS-323 Should be user/password protected ...not in kubuntu?

    Hi guys

I was looking how to connect to my DNS-323 in kubuntu 9.10 (usb key for now to see if I can get it to work ;o) ) and find out that writing smb://dns-323/Volume_1 in dolphin connect directly without asking user and password .... looks like a big bug in the security ?

    thanks

I don't know this particular device, but if you want it to be secure, you will have to set it, not Kubuntu, up for that purpose. If there is a security bug, you can't attribute it to the device from which you are connecting. Security is always server side.
