    Connection on boot

    Hi and Merry Chrismas
even today, my PC does not seem to have a holy behaviour! Yesterday I installed some packages (totem mplayer et similia) to have more codec to play video. When today I have switched on my pc i had the following surprises:

    1) There were (and, alas, there also are) some problem with my sound card: when kubuntu (9.10) is ready, after the boot, I have a message telling me that HDA Intel (AD198x analog) has been removed. This fact doesn't have repercussion on sound system, so it is not a great problem

    2) The very problem is that, I manage to have connection after the boot, i.e., when kubuntu start working the connection icon doesn't appear in the system tray, then it appears showing that it is impossible to connect pc to the net. This problem can be solved rebooting n times the pc, which doesn't seem to be the better solution. Can anybody help me?

    Merry Chrismas, P.M.

    Re: Connection on boot

I have noticed that when I use to download and install certain softwares after a brand new installation I use to get a bad configuration. The best way is to update everything after a new installation and then install what you need or want. That would fix the problem.

Try to reinstall the OS, update the OS and then install what you need. Hope that helps.
