DLink wireless adapter is not working

I have a DWA-510 adapter on my computer, but it can't find connections available.
It was running well using Kubuntu 8.04, the issue is happening after Kubuntu 9.10 is installed.

Below are results of some command for help.

Can anybody help me with this?

Let me know if you need additional information.

    Thanks in advance,
    Diego Banda

Re: DLink wireless adapter is not working

    what modules loaded?

    lsmod

    ---------------------------------------------------------

OK, never mind that; I see in lspci -k that it is rt61pci

    --------------------------------------------------------

in your dmesg, I see this:
    [ 19.121282] rt61pci 0000:00:08.0: firmware: requesting rt2561.bin

Did you put your firmware file for the Ralink device into /lib/firmware? Look and see if you have that file rt2561.bin in there. I'll bet you forgot it.

There appears to be problem with the driver, or else the firmware. I think unplugged may be correct and the firmware has not been installed. When you run iwconfig or ifconfig, for the Rx and Tx it should say something like this:
        Code:
             RX packets:361742 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
             TX packets:363419 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
So you can see that the transceiver is running.
