9.04 - 9.10 internet not working

I upgraded from 9.04 to 9.10. Skype works and I can talk to my router on 192.168.1.1. Can do this on either wired or wireless. Anything else does not even create a request going up on the network monitor.
I have tried with conqueror, kpackage manager, apt-get.

I then built a new system on my Acer laptop with 9.04 on first partition and 9.10 on 2nd partition. 9.10 shows same behaviour. I suspect a problem with DHCP?

Can anybody point me in the right direction.

I am not sure this _is_ the right direction, but worth a try. How about disabling ipv6?

Another thing, silly as it sounds, is powering down and up the router. Some times they get in a freaky state and you need to just restart them (I know, I know, 9.04 is ok, but hey).

Disabling ipv6 seems to fix the problem.
