Ndiswrapper won't insall

Hi Guys,

I did a fresh install of 9.10 and when I tried to install ndiswrapper I received this error message.

I have and old wireless card INPROCOMM IPN 2220 Wireless LAN Adapter that needs ndiswrapper to run.

Had no problem installing it under 9.04.

Any help appreciated.

it looked to me as though the prob in the thred you posted was in compiling ndiswrapper from sorce??.... and now that I reread it I think thay tryed to extract and compile a .deb but eneyway

thars no reason to do this (I think) as ndiswrapper is in the repos. ??

I dident see YOUR eror what was it?

ndiswrapper is 2 packages utils & comon and I cant remember witch one has to go first....scratch that the package manager should take car of it the last time I had to use it I was installing the .deb's with gdebi from a USB stick I had DL'd them to on a diferent box.

I would sugjest if you have a wired conection installing ndiswrapper from the repos with Kpackagekit and then use it.

if you nead help with that (using it properley) post back I have used it a lot and it has never let me down when thare was no other choise.

I downloader the tar file from Sourceforge.net and followed the instructions from the install file.
I got the same error when I ran make.

I then did an uninstall and used Synaptic to install the deb files and received and Invalid version error.
I used Synaptic because Kpackagekit couldn't find ndiswrapper

also I went back to Jaunty form an backup file until I could find a fix for this error
I may buy a new wireless card.

the newer pece of hardware is probley a good idea!!

if synaptic found you a package and you got that error I would think the tar ball gumed things up.

did ya make install or checkinstall.......uninstalled with a script from the extracted arcive's?

anuther reason to onley do a sorce compile as a last resort.

unless one is all redey fluent in sutch things.
