Could not find the iso image of Kubuntu 9.10 on the web

    Hello,

I have kubuntu 9.04, and I'd like to move to to 10.04 via 9.10. The 9.04 version was working so perfectly that I overslept the smooth transition.

My cdrom has some problems, so I try to get an image of 9.10 and upgrade via an alternate cd. However, I could found all the newer or earlier versions, but always once i get a link to 9.10, I always get

    Not Found

The requested URL /releases/kubuntu/9.10/ was not found on this server.

For any suggestion where I could get an iso file would be very thankful

Karmic Koala, 9.10, stopped being supported on 28th April this year so even if you find an ISO you won't be able to update your installation. Looks like a fresh install of 10.04, or newer, is your only option.

Besides that - upgrading is often problematic. You're usually better off with a fresh install. 10.04 is long term so you'll be good for awhile. Personally, I'd skip 10.10 altogether but 11.04 is the best so far.

What oshunluvr said, and, it appears that Jaunty is not among the archives:

That's odd GG, 9.04 and 9.10 were both rather decent releases IMO.

9.04 (Jaunty) is available at http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/releases/kubuntu but not 9.10 (Karmic) which the original poster was looking for. May be someone has forgot to copy the ISOs over from 'releases' to 'old-releases' when support for 9.10 stopped a few months ago?

Softpedia still has it on their servers. http://linux.softpedia.com/progDownl...oad-47614.html You could also check pirate bay or other torrent site.

I would caution against using any source except a repository or its archive.

That's a good point. Sometimes you can get things you don't want. I have seen at least one Ubuntu ISO torrent that had two nasty scripts built in. I haven't seen it asked above, but if you can use a 9.10 ISO, why not a 10.04, 10.10, or 11.04 ISO to do the same thing?

thanx to everybody, moved to kubuntu 10.4. But it was weird that Karmic Koala was neither on the supported nor on the old versions...
