        Re: error in plasma desktop!!!

        yes my screen black and the taskbar gone
        I can do alt+f2 and from there I can execute commands or open applications

        My fstab is:

        # /etc/fstab: static file system information.
        #
        # Use 'blkid -o value -s UUID' to print the universally unique identifier
        # for a device; this may be used with UUID= as a more robust way to name
        # devices that works even if disks are added and removed. See fstab(5).
        #
        # <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
        proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
        # / was on /dev/sda3 during installation
        UUID=e725a046-4cc3-4cab-a5b8-f405b8d271e4 / ext4 errors=remount-ro 0 1
        # swap was on /dev/sda4 during installation
        UUID=b097ed09-4bc9-4018-b591-e802c34fc61c none swap sw 0 0
        # swap was on /dev/sdb3 during installation

        /dev/fd0 /media/floppy0 auto rw,user,noauto,exec,utf8 0 0
        #/dev/sda5 /home/david/PELICULAS ntfs-3g rw,user,noatime,noexec,auto,nls=utf8,umask=000 0 0
        #/dev/sdc1 /home/david/COMPLETADAS ntfs-3g rw,user,noatime,noexec,auto,nls=utf8,umask=000 0 0

            I did 2 mods:
            in fstab I modify the second line of swap

            and I upgrade amarok with these commands:
            sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports
            sudo apt-get update
            sudo apt-get install amarok

            Thanks

              Re: error in plasma desktop!!!

              what i recommend is this:
              1) Restart computer and at log-in window do Ctrl + Alt + F1
              2) Log in and write the following command
              sudo mv /home/USER/.kde /home/USER/kdeBackUp
              3)Now do Ctrl + Alt + F7 and log-in, your desktop should be the way it was when you first installed ur OS. Let me know if it works.

              PS. If that doesn't fix it, what worked for me was running a sudo apt-get dist-upgrade. Thank upgraded me to the next distro and it fixed the problem. IDK what you'd want to do. Try the first solution and let me know if it works.
