can i use wubi to install kubuntu 9.10 64-bit edition alogside windows?

Short answer:
No.
Long answer:
Wubi installs kubuntu _within_ windows. You can deinstall again as you would a proper programme. To install kubuntu alongside windows you are in for the whole caboodle with partitioning, etc.
Note:
Wubi is great to get to know the OS, heck, you can even run it exclusively. But sooner or later you will want to have linux have its own space on your hard disk. And then you are ours, resistance is futile
