Is Grub going to have problems with booting after I move kubuntu partition?

I shrank Vista partition from 200Gb to 30Gb. Kubuntu system&swap partitions are now on the far end of the disc, so I am planning to move them with Gparted to just after Vista one, which is on the beginning of HDD. Should i expect problems with booting after doing this? Is Grub going to have problems with finding Kubuntu?

I want to move them, because the HDD is much faster on the beginning.

I am also wandering if i should actually bother to download and burn Gparted Live disc, if i could move partitions with EASEUS Partition Master from within Vista. But as they are ext4, I thought they would be better handled by Gparted. Does it actually matter?

Grub2 is linked to a specific partition. So if you move it or change th UUID you need to re-install grub for that partition.

There's a 1001 links on how to do this. Here's one.

Just to chime in with my 2.5 cts.

      I concur with the above.

      Beyond that getting gparted live
      http://gparted.sourceforge.net/download.php

      or sysrescue live:

      is never a bad idea.
I don't trust windows partitioners at all.

Bytw think about if getting a few ms extra speed is worth the trouble of reinstalling grub from a live cd.

Nothing against learning how to reinstall grub, but only when it is necessary

either way good luck and enjoy
