Testing Kubuntu

I just burned a new Kubuntu CD and giving the system a test run from the boot CD. Hope that from what I observe is enough to install the system permanently to the hard drive. I've become very fascinated with linux as a free alternative to a power user OS.

So far, I like the look of the system, eye catchy. Installed firefox with ease,, no terminal commands, and has some new social media software embedded. Through the first 20mins, system stable and looking good. 8)

Erm ...

I would caution that your life with Kubuntu will be more satisfactory, and last considerably longer, if you will accept the possibility of at least an occasional use of the Konsole. I don't think you'll find any Linux distribution advertising "no console here" as a marketing feature.
