Installation Failed. [Errno 5] Input/Output Error

    Hello All

Hope you will be fine and good.

Recently i decided to move to Kubuntu from windows xp. I followed the following steps to install the Kubuntu

I have a 80gb hard with 4 partitions and 12gb free space for Kubuntu installation.

I used unetbootin to copy the Kubuntu to USB from ISO image.

Rebooted, And then started installation from USB.

I gave installation wizard necessary information with 12gb free space for Kubuntu installtion. It accepted the information and installation started.

But, When it reached 71% it gave an ERROR which is as follows

    Installation Failed.

The installer encountered an error copying files to the hard disk.
    [Errno 5] Input/Output error.

I used two different USB drives but got the same problem.

    Can anyone help.

    Thanks

Possibly there was an error on the ISO image/download. You need to run the md5sum check on it before you use unetbootin to make the USB image. If md5sum on the download does not match the value shown on the download site for that ISO, then you must download it again and check it again.
