No mouse pointer on boot of install disk.

    Here are my computers details:

    Gateway MX6955 laptop
    T1400 Core Solo processor
    2G ram
    250G HD

When I boot the install disk, and choose "Try Kubuntu" it boots just fine, when I reach the desktop, I have no mouse pointer. I can see that the mouse is working as when I move it, certain things "light up" and if I click the right spot, it does work, but I cannot see what I am clicking on.

I have the mouse pad, and an external mouse, and neither one works.

This is frustrating, because when I got version 7.1 a year or two ago, the install and the OS worked perfectly. Since then I have had some problems on multiple computers, and I would really like to have Kubuntu in my repituar of OSes.

I absolutely cannot stand when someone posts a question and is completely ignored by the community.

I am not waiting 3 weeks for an answer.... Come on people, someone must know the answer.
