    9.10 cd performs live session but fails to install freezes @55%

    Using 3 cds burnt on friends machine that installed on his laptop each failed to complete install @55%
    on Toshiba Satallite 1 GB ram 30 GB HDD
    installed to desktop and appear to run ok no internet connection on desktop
    Used alternative cd to install ubuntu on laptop which froze on the internet previously have run 9.04
    problem free
    Kunbuntu on destop help file appears out of date refering to kicker but unable to load or find file using dolphin or terminal
    Apart from my problems I think the issuse look great and full o0f promise to equal or surpass 9,04
    thanks to the teams and can anyone throw me a line for the laptop??

    how did you setup the laptop's install ......duel boot with windows..........hole disk........manualey partition ...exe...exe..?

    it sound's like it's runing out of space during install!!!

    wile runing live cd do in terminal
    Code:
    sudo fdisk -l
    and see how the disk is layed out.....post it hear.

      This is a known problem. The solution is also known.

      Simply execute the following command in a terminal window before clicking the "Install" icon:

      sudo apt-get remove dmraid

      do that and the installation will complete. Had the same problem and found the solution on the forums here somewhere.
