Kubuntu 9.10 on R51 Thinkpad video probs

I just dual-boot installed K 9.10 on a Thinkpad R51 (ATI Mobility Radeon 7500, 32G memory) and the graphics are funky. The background image is fine but the window borders are hashed, unreadable. The panels are unreadable. Can't get to apps other than right clicking. Help.

well I'm not a ATI man but have you ben to K>Applacatios>setings>Hardwar Drivers and see if offers you some choise's?
and thare are some other thred's on ATI and drivers that mite be of use ......do a search for them.

and one of the ATI pepole should be allong soon
