    error after install backport

    Hi all,

I just switch to Kubuntu and pretty new with it. Yesterday, when i added http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/backports/ubuntu karmic main and http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/ppa/ubuntu karmic main and started to update, i got the error message

    Code:
The following packages will be upgraded:
     kword-data-kde4
1 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 5 not upgraded.
Need to get 0B/134kB of archives.
After this operation, 81.9kB disk space will be freed.
Do you want to continue [Y/n]? Y

Is there anyone getting this error? Please help

    > FAQ: Repositories

    - the PPA repositories are more or less experimental

The "...defaultstyles.xml" is in the two pckages:

    - kword-kde4 1:2.0.2-2ubuntu3 (old)
    - kword-data-kde4 1:2.1.0-0ubuntu1~karmic1~ppa1 (new)

    A possible solution could be:

    - Remove the old packages
    - Install the new versions
    Before you edit, BACKUP !

Why there are dead links ?

bubuzzz, if you're new to Linux maybe it'd be a good idea to wait awhile before using the backports repos unless you've got a solid reason for doing it.

ok, it's me again. there are some problem with the codec and i really don't know where to fix it. I already installed kubuntu-restricted-extras and can play all kinds of music and video. However, when playing online (youtube, for example), i can only watch the video, but cannot hear anything. In Gnome, i never had any funny issue like this . Can anyone have suggestion, please?
