[Bug filed] Serious boot problems

    Yeah, but can you use the rescue console? What is happening here is if I try to start in rescue mode, I get a text screen that randomly alternates between the root prompt and a normal login prompt. It's unusuable.

    TEMPORARY WORKAROUND

    Switch to gdm. Ugly (in my opinion) but it works. And you can't shutdown from kde; you have to logout, and then shut down from the gdm greeter. But at least I can get to the rescue console, should the need arise.

      yes I just booted recovery moad and it loaded fine...(humm the fix X option is gone though)

      I should say I have Gnome installed hear as well... I use kdm.... but have gdm for the heck of it to.

      if you want ENEY file from my system posted or atached for compareson just ask

        I think we have the problem narrowed down. It's up to the developers to fix it from this point on (bug filed in launchpad).
