    Re: KDE - 4.3.3

It depends upon the time of day, keep at it, it will go through eventually. I always have to try twice, sometimes more.

      get this

'W: GPG error: http://ppa.launchpad.net karmic Release: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 2836CB0A8AC93F7A'

      I then..

      'gpg --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv 2836CB0A8AC93F7A'

      getting this message

'gpg: requesting key 8AC93F7A from hkp server keyserver.ubuntu.com
      gpg: keyserver timed out
gpg: keyserver receive failed: keyserver error'

I think, I have to wait until the server is available and do the command again before I do the second command line

      'gpg --export --armor 2836CB0A8AC93F7A | sudo apt-key add -'

      tawee

... be back after successful ...

After more than 20 times doing "gpg --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv 2836CB0A8AC93F7A", I then aborted, looking for the other effective way. And find this:

On the 'start menu', click and select 'System Settings' --> click 'Add and Remove Software' on 'General' tab --> click 'Settings' --> click 'Edit Software Sources' --> enter your privilege code --> click second tab 'Other Software' --> enter 'deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/ppa/ubuntu karmic main' then click 'OK' and 'close', respectively --> select 'Software Updates' and click 'refresh' button --> select updates and click 'apply' button --> then wait and wait.. until update finish...

No needs for GPG (concerning security like MD5), the system does it for you.

Bravo. I do it the other way because I would already have Terminal open to upgrade. Hope you enjoy KDE 4.3.3.
