    Booting problem

I have Asus 8V-VM mobo with a 40 GB ide hdd and 160 GB SATA hdd.
ide drive is used for windows.
    SATA drive has four partitions ( 2 GB swap / 20 Gb ext3 / 20 GB ext3 and balance vfat ).

sda5 has Vector LINUX with LILO as boot loader.

Installed Kubuntu Karmic Koala 9.10 in /dev/sda6 with boot loader on the root partition of /dev/sda6.
Tried to update lilo in Vector Linux which returned an error.

Please let me know how to boot Kubuntu (reg. vmlinuz file).

I have only gone the other way: used GRUB (in the MBR) to chainload LILO (in the partition):

I've not done it your way, but perhaps this reference will tell you how:

      Qqmike !

Your reply leads to understanding more about frub but my fundamental questions remians unanswered.
For lilo I nedd to specify the root partition and kernel image.
In kubuntu where to find them ?
