Hello everyone I just did a completely fresh install of Kubuntu on my PS3. It took roughly 1.5-2 hours to complete, which was the first thing that I found rather odd, but maybe that's just how long it takes or maybe the PS3's HDD is wretched
ANYWAY, I did a fresh install, reformatted everything, gave "OtherOS" the majority of the hard drive space, chose to do a guided install and had it completely reformat my drive and use the main partition, it installed, rebooted, and... failure.
It says something about not finding a rootfs, so I googled it and thought that maybe it was just looking at the wrong drive name, but nothing I do will make it work. I tried manually typing in "/boot/vmlinux initrd=/boot/initrd.img root=/dev/ps3da1" but it says it cant mount the image because of "unsupported optional features".
I looked around online and tried typing in about 10 fixes for this problem that other people were given, but nothing seems to work! I'm quite the linux n00b and I have no idea why this isn't working. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, thanks!
UPDATE: Reinstalled with the same image burnt onto a DVD instead of a CD, AND I used a different burning program, but I get the same results
Here's the exact error code:
I have tried mounting soooo many things and just nothing works. PLEASE help me! I'm flabbergasted as to why this crashes on a clean install!
