I started the upgrade from Kubuntu 9.04 to Kubuntu 9.10 last night and watched as the downloads installed and the installer window closed. Before the reboot window appeared the power went out and my computer shutdown. I rebooted the system and my grub still shows Kubuntu 9.04 so I selected that option and logged into KDE. After 2 minutes my display became garbled and the machine locked up. I shut my system down and power it back on this time I logged in and the system did not lock up. I went to about KDE and it shows that I am using KDE 4.2.3. I am seeing odd behavior such as firefox failing to load, etc... Apt-get update and upgrade show that no files are needed. Is there a way to have it reprocess the final installation scripts, reload the missing pieces or do I need to do a clean install?
