    add an HD

    so I was wandering if I add another HD (IDE) to my box will it messup my UUID's or not ?

    I'm going to do it eneyway but was looking for some input to what I can expect as far as having to rework the UUID's ore watnot

    The new drive itself won't get a UUID until you partition it, but the new partition(s) will be assigned a new UUID(s). You can find it with
    Code:
    sudo blkid
    and set it up in /etc/fstab.

      I just thrugh it in my test box (allso runing Karmic) and it wint just fine it was allreadey partitiond as NTFS as it came from a windows box but was picked up and avalabel to browse in dolphin.

      I repartitiond and formated as ext3 and will insert to my mane box tomarow ............it's a 80 Gig WD IDE HD I plan to have for riping my cd colection to
